"Why so hostile?" That's the question that gets asked, over and over again. Well... we'll tell you why.
Change is in the wind and for some at the top of the heap, it's unwelcome. The egg suckers, the FINO's and the MUTTS have been holding reign over us for so long we've all forgotten that we've got mouth's of our own!
Take a look around you. Some of the up and coming 'prospects' that may well take over this department's management one day are already plugged-in. We seem to have hatched a new breed of "YES" men who'll throw us under the bus in a NY minute! They and their ilk don't especially like OUR Union or OUR Union President. You see -- they've never had much of an appreciation for the Union, as they're on a 'mission' and that mission doesn't include ever having to offer-up their time or talents to their Brothers and Sisters, not to mention the obvious benefits to themselves' as individuals. You see... there's no $$$ in the fraternal side of things. Egg sucking, being what it is, (in demand) has evolved to the level of a fine art, and well... the Union thing, it just seems to get in the way!
With a little detective work, (very little) OUR Union has uncovered documents that prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that we are in control of our own destiny. It would seem that management employs the best in firehouse attorneys and as such - they get what they've paid for in the end! As of late, they've not only met their intellectual match - but it comes packaged in a Blue-Shirt! How can this be? He's just a 'blue-shirt' and we all know that blue-shirts don't know shit!
